Serving More Families, Better

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Arkansas & North Louisiana is Expanding Its Reach & Changing Lives, One Community at a Time

Effective April 1, 2025, RMHC of Arkansas & North Louisiana along with RMHC of Arkoma have united under one name with the same mission and expanded services. We are now unified to serve more families, even better

What This Means for Families and Donors

The expansion of the RMHC Arkansas & North Louisiana organization means staying true to the same mission while expanding programs and services.

Janell Mason, CEO of RMHC of Arkansas & North Louisiana, said, Our donors and supporters can rest assured that 100% of every donation helps local families. Merging the programs, resources, and expertise of RMHC of Arkoma with our organization introduces greater efficiency in operations and expands our reach.”

“We are excited about the impact this merger brings to the Northwest Arkansas and River Valley regions, both for the immediate future and long-term growth of our services,” said Leah Jones, Mission Director Northwest Arkansas & the River Valley. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to bringing comfort, care, and hope to the families we serve.”

Since 1981, RMHC of Arkansas & North Louisiana has ensured that families have a safe place to rest, warm meals, and feel fully supported while their child is receiving medical treatment. Thanks to generous donors and volunteers, over 50,000 Arkansas families have been served in just over four decades.

Looking to the Future

With this expansion, RMHC of Arkansas & North Louisiana will continue to operate Ronald McDonald House® in Fort Smith, Ronald McDonald House® in Washington Regional Fayetteville, and Ronald McDonald Family Room® in Mercy Hospital Rogers. Further expansion includes an exciting new development—the construction of the first Ronald McDonald House® Shreveport-Bossier in Northwest Louisiana. Slated to open in August 2025, this new House will provide a welcoming and supportive environment, including 20 rooms and daytime respite for families in North Louisiana who need to stay close to their hospitalized children. Ronald McDonald Family Room® in St. Francis will also open later this year to serve NICU families in Monroe, Louisiana.

“This is a significant step forward for our Chapter,” said Eric Mangham, Chair of the RMHC of Arkansas & North Louisiana Board of Directors. “We have seen firsthand the impact our programs have on families in crisis. Offering services spanning from Northwest Arkansas to North Louisiana allows us to bridge a critical gap and offer hope and comfort to even more families.”
