Ronald McDonald Care Mobile

With a team consisting of a dentist, a dental hygienist, and a dental assistant, the Care Mobile travels to select elementary schools during the school year.  Counties served are Pulaski, Saline, Perry, Faulkner, Lonoke, and Grant. Schools are selected based on the greatest number of students utilizing free and reduced lunch programs and the number of children whose families have no access to dental care. With help from school nurses, students are triaged based on the greatest need for care. The Care Mobile stays at each school for 2-3 weeks to treat as many students as possible who desperately need dental care. Many of these children have never seen a dentist before nor do they have dental insurance.

Without the Care Mobile these kids have no remedy for their dental pain.  The Care Mobile offers full-service dental care, including exams, x-rays, sealants, restorations (fillings), pediatric crowns, pulpotomies (baby tooth root canals), extractions, and other preventative and restorative care.  In the summers, the Care Mobile parks at the Arkansas Children’s Clinic, located in the lowest-income zip code in central Arkansas, to treat kids of all ages.
